Invitation Declined

Added on 30/03/2009

Following the recent special parish council meeting for residents an invitation was given to Steve Wellings, Chief Executive of Telford & Wrekin Council, and Andrew Eade, Leader of Telford & Wrekin Council, to take part in a public meeting to discuss the future of the Ketley Community and Youth centres.

Steve Wellings has declined on behalf of himself and Andrew Eade saying they had nothing further to add to the letter which had been written to the Parish Clerk (see here), stateing that "The Leader has called for an internal meeting with officers from Planning and Asset and Property Management to consider the options open to the Borough Council and I will be writing to you shortly to let you know the outcome of that meeting."

Here are links to the letter from Steve Wellings (PDF in new window 2.05MB);

FUNDRAISING DAY

Added on 15/03/2009

On May 16th 2009 there is going to be a fund raising day for Ketley Youth facilities. In order to have a good range of items to sell we are looking for donations to the various stalls. So if you have any of the following which you no longer need then please consider giving them to help raise funds for Ketley people. Stalls will be for plants or vegetables, books, clothes, furniture, items for bric-a-brac, items for the raffle prize. and cakes. The funds will go towards the 12 – 16 Youth Club which runs on a Monday evening from 7 until 9, the Over 50's Youth Club which runs on Friday nights from 7 -10, the Junior Youth Club (Tuesdays 6 -8pm) and the 16-19 drop in which is on a Wednesday from 7-9.30pm. Come along and support local events.

Community Centre and Youth Centre

Added on 31/01/2008

The lead which was stolen from our centre roofs and caused many problems has now been replaced with a substitute material and the broken tiles have nearly all been replaced. This will once again mean that we have watertight building. We would like to thank Roofrite for the way they carried out the contract and the way they interacted with centre users. If you see anyone on our roof then telephone the police straight away.

Changing Rooms

Added on 31/01/2008

A resident asked the Parish Council to lobby for changing facilities on the playing field. After discussion it was agreed that there were difficulties with this and yet we wanted to provide facilities for a local football team to use. What we decided to do instead was try to get changing facilities at the Community Centre which could be used by several different groups, be part of a semi-protected site, could utilise existing buildings and keep community facilities under one roof. We have meetings with Telford & Wrekin to try and take things forward at the end of January. But in January 2009 we are still waiting.

Blackies Lane

Added on 31/01/2008

Confusion at Eon, who having given the Parish a Job Number for the lights on Blackies Lane then tried to say the work had not been authorised. It has, and we should get some movement on this shortly.
